County-wide Valentine's Balloon Sale

Each February, students from Seminole County's Job Experience Training programs host an annual balloon sale to help students interact with county employees. This event provides opportunities for our students to showcase the skills they have learned during their community work experiences in the JET program.

Disability Mentoring Day (DMD Day)

Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) is part of a nationally based effort to promote career development and awareness for students with disabilities. DMD provides hands-on career exploration and job shadowing opportunities. SCPS has partnered with many amazing organizations to host DMD for high school students in our area. DMD trips have included events at Walgreens, Olive Garden, Oviedo Mall, Altamonte Mall, RDV, and the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens.

ILIAD

The ILIAD is a Seminole County job training center, where students work to complete special projects for local businesses and SCPS departments. These projects help to further develop student's skills for future employment. Currently, students at the ILIAD work with the Families in Need (FIN) program to process and deliver items to School Social Workers at all elementary, middle and high schools. Other special projects at the ILIAD have included partnerships with Bright Feats Magazine, Nathaniel's Hope, Seminole County Foundation Department, Sports for the Kids and many more.
