Crooms Magnet School Gymnasium Replacement and Central Energy Plant (CEP) Upgrades
The project will entail the replacement of the existing Gymnasium located on 13th Street in Sanford which was built in 1963. The Scope of Work will include the construction of a new (Schenkel Shultz Architect) prototype gymnasium identical to the one recently completed at Millennium Middle School. The Gym will be approximately 25,000 square feet which includes a competition gymnasium, bleacher area, dressing rooms, and other support spaces. The construction scope of work also includes the phased demolition of the existing gym and upgrades to the existing Central Energy Plant serving the campus' HVAC system. The construction start period is summer 2019 and completion in April 2020. Demolition of the existing Gym is scheduled for the summer of 2020. The construction budget is $5,500,000.
